Investigation into active plant ingredients in the 1980s resulted in detailed studies of citrus fruits, with particular attention being given to secondary plant ingredients such as bioflavonoids. Bioflavonoids are relatively large plant molecules occurring in above-ground plant components. They are found particularly in the seeds and peels of fruits and vegetables, parts that we generally remove. Like vitamins, bioflavonoids are involved in numerous metabolic processes in the body and are useful for their protective properties. Bioflavonoids have an antioxidant action and can neutralize free radicals that damage cells and cause a number of illnesses.

Ingredients:
The main ingredients are secondary bioflavonoid plant constituents such as naringin, isonaringin and hesperidin, dissolved in a vegetable glycerin base carrier for optimal tolerability. Citroplus is available as a homogenous solution offering standardized bioflavonoid content of 600 mg/100 ml.
